It was probably Seymour Buts

Tamag0 responds:

HEY EVERYBODY! I WANT A SEYMOUR BUTZ!!

Would have loved the T-shirt design if the drawing was expanded a little more so you could see the entire scythe, and both To-to & death's entire bodies. Just looks weird when it's cut-off like that on a T-shirt

Really cool drawing overall!

XOCHIBUNSAI responds:

That’s understandable I actually thought that too! I’m new to making shirts and I hope I improve! thank you for the input

Oh my god man, that's amazing! Really love how dynamic everything is, and I love what you did with my OC too. I wanted someone to draw that character in more creative poses, but all I got was something simple, so this really pleases me.

And the fact that you did all of this in a few weeks is insane! I can barely draw 6 characters in a month, but you drew 40 of them in about half the time. Just blows my mind!

WizardoFrank responds:

Thanks! I've been working on my workflow so it means a ton to hear that, I'm glad you and everyone like this!

Look Gary! There I am!

Beautiful

That's absolutely gorgeous! I can't stop looking at it!

PkBlitz responds:

Thanks a lot!!

Very simple, but also very cute.

Great job!

Maxfilm responds:

thanx :)

Can't say anything about the foreshortening. Haven't done it enough to find patterns, but when it comes to adding colours to characters that look good in black & white, I have a few tricks:

Firstly black line-art on a pure white character sticks-out way too much when switching to colour (something about going from white to black to colour is too intense, and I can't quite explain why). The solution is to either change the skin colour so there's less contrast between the skin and lineart, or to change the line-art on your character so that again there's not a huge contrast between them.

My solution for my character was to make the lineart around the character a blue-ish colour that works well with the background, but you can also use a different colour, have thinner lineart, or just remove the lineart altogether and rely only on the shading for those details.

Another example is with @sinnykitt. They use gray skin for their characters which can make the character pop less, but makes it easier to add colours around them, and it doesn't clash with the black lineart.

Those are all the examples I can think of, but it's up to you to experiment with what works best in your art-style.

I will say though, the one advantage I found while drawing my white bunny character is that since white is in the middle of the colour wheel, most cold colours can be used for shadows, and most warm colours can be used for highlights. So you can make some wild as hell colour combos and it can still look good.

Hope this helps!

Awesome drawing BTW.

RE:
I understand that the thick black lineart with the black & white characters is part of your style. I just wanted to give you some suggestions since working with either an all white, or all black character can be tricky to add colours to and around them.

LiteralHat responds:

I'm looking for criticism, not an extended opinion. I feel like there is a very clear difference there and your response didn't really help. The black lineart is deliberate. I'm mostly looking for pointers when it comes to fundamentals on how to work values and light. I appreciate the time you took out of your day to write up this response though.

That feeling when you're looking for criticism, and all you get is "that's cool", or no comments.

Drives me up the walls I tell ya.

LiteralHat responds:

I don't mind. People have their own lives and I'm not entitled to others comments.

Wouldn't that just be a donation?

Also, really like the art. It's just so chill looking.

TheDyingSun responds:

Thank you!

And I still kept to a deadline while working on this piece and it was a specific request, so idk XD
